There’s nothing like the NHL postseason. It’s a mix of fights, hard hits, joy and tears, and that’s just the fans! Get into zone coverage with Wildz Sports and discover the best playoff narratives and betting markets.
Nope, we don’t mean the LA Kings. We’re talking about the back-to-back defending champions Florida Panthers. Safe to say, it’s been a nightmare, injury-ravaged season where the likes of Aleksander Barkov, Seth Jones and Brad Marchand were all shut down. And with that, so were any hopes of a three-peat.
“So who will ascend to the throne?”
At Wildz Sports we like the Colorado Avalanche (+300). The “Avs” head into the playoffs as the team to beat. That’s due to winning the Presidents’ Trophy and finishing with one of the most dominant regular seasons in NHL history. With Nathan MacKinnon and Cale Makar at the wheel, the Denver-based franchise have also seemingly solved their past goaltending issues.
After consecutive heartbreaking Stanley Cup losses, the Edmonton Oilers (+1200) would love to seize on the Panthers playoff absence. However this year, even with Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl available, the Oilers have regressed. But despite reliance on a new goaltender tandem of Tristan Jarry and Connor Ingram, the Oilers remain a team to watch. “Go Canada!”
The Tampa Bay Lightning (+400) enter the postseason as strong contenders after clinching their ninth consecutive berth. Led by league-leading scorer Nikita Kucherov, they boast elite, veteran-driven offense and consistent two-way play. Can the “Bolts” overcome recent first-round exits and leverage the core of their 2021 championship success?
Under Rod Brind’Amour, the Carolina Hurricanes (+500) play a structured, high-possession game led by Sebastian Aho and Seth Jarvis. Despite many playoff setbacks, will the addition of forward Nikolaj Ehlers and defender K’Andre Miller give the “Canes” the depth needed to compete for a second championship?
Sitting just outside the main contenders are the Dallas Stars (+1000). Featuring a strong blend of youth and experience, including Wyatt Johnston and standout goalie Jake Oettinger, will it be enough to win the Cup? After years of building a deep roster, the Stars may be poised for a deep postseason run.
