The objective of blackjack is to get as close to 21 as possible without going over. Any combination of cards valued at 22 or higher is a BUST and will result in a losing hand. Ties between the Player and Dealer are a PUSH, meaning no money is either won or loss in the case of a tie score.
The Dealer must STAND on a 17 or higher.
To begin, both the Player and the Dealer are dealt two cards each. The Player can see both of their cards and one Dealer card.
If the Dealer is holding any other card, the following options are available depending on the Player’s hand:
If the initial two Player cards equal 9 - 11: The Player has the option to DOUBLE their bet. After doubling the bet, one additional card is drawn. No additional player action is permitted on this hand beyond that one card draw after a Double bet.
If the initial two Player cards have the same value: The player will be given the option to SPLIT their hand. The bet is doubled, the cards are separated, and two more cards are dealt from the deck to give this split pair its 2nd card. Those hands then play out as normal – they can be doubled, split again, to HIT (draw a card), or the hand(s) may be held.
For all other values: The Player will have the option to HIT and draw cards from the deck to try and get closer to 21 without going over. When the player is satisfied with their hand’s value, they may hit STAND at any time to play their hand against the Dealer.
As in land-based casinos, a player can bet against the dealer with multiple hands on a single deal. Unlike land-based operations, Wildz Casino does not require outrageous minimum bets that require the player to gamble large amounts when trying to play multiple hands at once.
While there is a chance the dealer may reveal outstanding cards and beat every player hand, the most common outcome is the player hedging their bets by winning some hands and losing others. And, of course, there always remains the distinct possibility that the dealer reveals like bust cards, exceeds 21 on a draw, and the player wins every hand that they bet.
While some players prefer the multihand version for stylistic reasons, there is some mathematical sense in playing this version to hedge against total losses.
There are some versions of blackjack that simply are not available at any land-based casino. Deal or No Deal Blackjack is a good example of a title that could only be managed by a computer.
Deal or No Deal Blackjack is a version of blackjack which gives the Player the offer to take a settlement before the Dealer flips their second card. If the Player has poor cards and the Dealer is showing an Ace, the Player will be offered a small percentage of their wager to forfeit the hand before the Dealer turns their second hard. Conversely, if a player is showing a pair of 10s and the Dealer reveals a 6, the player will be offered an amount larger than their wager to forfeit the round before it plays out.
These offers made to the Player before the Dealer flips their second card simply couldn’t be calculated by a human being in any time frame that would facilitate the playing of a casino game. In the case of Deal or No Deal blackjack, this is a clear example of a game that can only be played at an online casino.
Blackjack has one of the highest Return-to-Player (RTP) percentages available at online casinos, including at Wildz.com. An RTP of over 99% means that, on average, the Player receives over €0,99 for every one Euro wagered on blackjack titles. One reason this RTP is so high is because Player hands that tie with the Dealer are a push, unfair rules found in some countries where the Dealer wins on a tie hand.
Odds in blackjack are dependent upon the number of decks that are used in the game. While most online blackjack games use a single deck, land-based casinos use up to eight decks. There are different win probabilities when using a different number of decks - 99.87% for a single deck and 99.35% for a 8-deck shuffle - yet the overall RTP remains quite high.
Because the RTP is so high it should be noted that blackjack games count very little towards the wagering requirement for bonus money. For full details, please see Section 8.12 of the General Terms and Conditions for complete information about wagering requirements and the contribution percentage provided by different game types.
The first reference to a game similar to blackjack was in Miguel de Cervantes’ Novelas ejemplares. Cervantes, the author of Don Quixote, references in Novelas ejemplares a pair who are prolific cheaters at veintiuna, Spanish for twenty-one. As this short story was written between 1601 and 1602, the game of blackjack has its roots at least sometime in the early 17th century, but likely before that.
When the game was introduced to the United States, it included a rule where the Player received a 10:1 payout if they received an Ace of Spades and a black (spades or clubs) Jack, thus the name “blackjack.” Although the 10:1 payout was eventually abandoned, the name stuck and the Spanish 21 is now commonly known as blackjack.
By the 1950s, blackjack had spread to just about every land-based casino in the world. The game has become so ubiquitous that blackjack tables are typically the only table games on offer in non-casino establishments such as bars and nightclubs that allow gambling.
The overall objective is to beat the dealer by getting as close to 21 as possible without going over.
Blackjack is achieved by managing 21 points from two cards, consisting of an Ace + a picture card or a 10.
