Hugo 2 is a 5-reel, 3-row, 10-pay line railroad-themed video slot featuring the Skull Cavern bonus game and Troll Race free spins.

Skull Cavern Bonus

If 3 or more Evil Witch Afskylia scatter symbols land on the reels during the main game, this will activate the Skull Cavern bonus. The ultimate goal of this bonus is to reach the treasure chamber and unlock the Treasure of Afskylia by picking the correct treasure key. This bonus resembles the scene from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade where Dr. Jones navigates the Name of God obstacle in search of the Holy Grail.

Each chosen path can award monetary coins. The treasure at the end of the Skull Cavern bonus will award a total win multiplier depending how many lives the player has left. 2x, 3x, 4x, or 5x of total win for 0, 1, 2, or 3 remaining lives.

After failing, Hugo can come back to life. However, if a pillar falls on Hugo from above, the bonus ends, and the player is returned to the main game. Cumulative wins will be calculated and paid to the player, but death by pillar does not give an opportunity to collect a multiplier. 3, 4, or 5 scatters will give Hugo 1, 2, or 3 extra lives respectively.

Troll Race Free Spins

Three Beaver scatter symbols appearing on reels 1, 3, and 5 will trigger Troll Race free spins. Ten initial free spins will be awarded, but +5 or +10 additional free spins can be won during the Troll Race feature. After reaching the maximum 20 free spins, there is a chance to enter into the Skull Cavern bonus game with 3 initial lives. All bets and pay lines remain the same as the spin which triggered the feature.

After the reels have stopped, but before wins are presented, there is a chance to collect up to 2 Wild items. When 4+ have been collected, 4 extra wilds will replace other symbols on the reels. When this occurs, 4 Wild items will be removed from Hugo’s inventory.
