Wildz Blackjack

Blackjack is considered to be the world’s oldest banking game, and the first references to the game are believed to be found in a Miguel de Cervantes (author of Don Quixote) tale from around 1601. The year is now 2020, and Blackjack is still among the world’s most popular games both in land-based casinos and in our Live Casino.

It is therefore with great pride we have launched a Live Casino collaboration with Evolution to host a Wildz-themed Blackjack table. Read on to learn more about the game, which is exclusive to players at Wildz Casino.

Design

The Wildz Casino theme is clearly visible on our very own, exclusive Blackjack table. The background of the playing surface uses the lighting bolt pattern which is seen in the footer of this website. Some of the table information text is also written in the Wildz gold colour, and the Wildz logo is visible right in front of the dealer.

The Wildz Blackjack table is a Live Casino game, meaning the playing and interaction with the dealer is happening in real-time. The table is shaped like any other Blackjack table around the world, and it can hold up to 7 players at a time.

How to play Wildz Blackjack

A big part of the reason for Blackjack’s popularity around the globe is the simplicity of the game. There are still quite a few rules, which we will explain in the following, but it is a straightforward game that you will pick up quickly. The following are rules for Wildz Blackjack, which is played with eight 52-card decks. Playing with multiple decks is common practice all around the world, as is done to prevent Rain Man style card-counting scenarios.

When playing Blackjack, you are only competing against the Dealer, regardless of how many other players there might be at the table. The objective of the game is to come as close to 21 without going over. An Ace is worth 1/11 (depending on what suits you), picture cards are worth 10 and all other cards are worth their face value.

If the combined value of your cards is higher than 21, your hand is a BUST and loses. If the Player and the Dealer end up with the same score, it results in a PUSH. When a Push occurs, no money is lost nor won, and the Player gets his or hers original stake back.

To begin, both the Player and Dealer are dealt two cards each. While the Player can see both of their own cards, only one of the Dealer cards is visible. The other is dealt face-down and is only visible to the Dealer. If the visible Dealer card is an Ace, the player has the option to buy Insurance:

  • Blackjack insurance costs ½ of the wager. If the Player opts for insurance and the Dealer hits Blackjack (21), the Player will be paid 2:1 on their bet and the round is over. If the Dealer doesn’t have Blackjack, the insurance fee is forfeited and the round continues as normal.

If the Dealer is showing any other card that isn’t an Ace, there are several options available. The different alternatives will depend on what kind of hand the Player has:

  • If the two Player cards equal 9 - 11: The player can choose to Double the bet. If choosing to do so, the Player will receive one additional card. The hand is considered finished, and it is not possible to perform any more action after this card is dealt.
  • If the two Player cards have the same value: The player will now have the option SPLIT their hand. By splitting, the bet is doubled before the cards are separated and played as two different hands. Each card will receive a 2nd card from the deck, so the player now has 2 hands/4 cards. These hands are then played as normal: they can be doubled, split again, they can be HIT (draw a new card) or the hands can be held.
  • If the two Player cards have any other value: The player will have the choice between HIT or STAND. To hit means to draw another card from the deck to try to get closer to 21(without going over). When happy with the hand value, the player may hit STAND at any time to play their hand against the dealer.

And remember, the dealer has to draw new cards until he or she hit 17, at which point they have to stand. If the dealer is showing a low-value card face-up, you know that he or she needs to draw at least one more card. If the dealer shows, for example, a picture card, the chances are they are already close to 17. This should be considered before choosing to hit or stand.

Playing more than one hand

Just as in a land-based casino, Wildz Blackjack allows you to bet against the dealer with multiple hands in the same round/deal. The custom Wildz table can hold up to 7 players at the same time, and you are free to play as many of these positions as you want at once (granted they are available at the time).

While playing several hands comes with the risk of losing every hand, it also gives the player a possibility to hedge against potential losses.

Wildz 777 Blackjack

Recently we have added a second Wildz Blackjack table, that comes with an exclusive jackpot which is won by hitting Blackjack (21) with three 7s. This table is open daily between 14:00 and 02:00 CET.

Head over to 777 Wildz Blackjack to experience the same high-quality Blackjack experience, with the added bonus of a jackpot.

Real casino experience from wherever

One of the main advantages of playing Live Casino is that you get the full casino experience without having to leave the comfort of your own home. You get to enjoy a real casino environment in real-time with real dealers — without having to make your way to a land-based casino (or to dress up!).

The Wildz Blackjack offers the best of both worlds, and is a good alternative for those seeking some Live Casino fun.
