Texas Hold’em basics

A Holdem cash game is played on a single table with 2 to 10 players. The goal is to win as many chips as possible, one pot at a time. A pot is won by having the best hand after the final community hand has been dealt or when all the other players have folded. Combining one or both hole cards with community cards creates a full hand.

A Texas Hold’em game can be broken up into three main parts: Setup, Betting Rounds and Showdown. Texas Holdem Bonus Poker accommodates low stakes players through to high rollers, offering stakes from €0,50 all the way up to €500.

The person dealing the cards deals to the left of the player with the dealer button first and then clockwise around the table. Each player gets one card at a time until each player has two cards, both face down. These are known as the player’s hole cards to be used when making the final 5-card poker hand. Each round comprises a minimum of one and a maximum of four betting rounds. The first round of betting takes place when all players have got their two hole cards. A hand ends when all players but one have folded or the fourth and final round of betting is completed with multiple players still in the hand.

Played with a standard 52-card shoe, all players at a virtual Texas Holdem Bonus Poker table play out the very same hand against the dealer. Now both you and the dealer look to make your best possible five-card hand from a combination of your respective two hole cards plus the five community cards spread out. Note that you can use none, one, or all of your hole cards to form your best holding.

Should you possess a superior holding to the dealer, you receive an even-money payout on all Flop, Turn and River bets. Your Ante paid is paid out only if you hold a Straight or better. Otherwise, this bet is ‘pushed’.

If the dealer holds a stronger hand than you, you forfeit all bets except the Bonus Bet, which is honoured on meeting the minimum criteria.

Whenever both you and the dealer share a hand of equal value, the dealer is declared the winner and collects all bets.

Different types of Poker Games

After placing an ‘Ante’ bet, a game round begins with players receiving five cards while the dealer draws one card face-up. Players may view their cards at this point, and must decide whether to continue/play, or forfeit/fold your hand.

Should the player decided to advance with their hand, they must indicate this by placing a bet in the box marked ‘Bet’ / ‘Play’ or equivalent, while their wager is collected by the dealer in the instance that they fold.

Once all players have acted, the dealer proceeds to reveal their remaining four cards and their final holding then compared against every player’s individual hand. The dealer’s hand only qualifies if they hold a King and an Ace or higher. Should the dealer’s hand not meet the minimum criteria, the player wins their wager.

If the dealer continues and their hand turns out to be stronger than the player’s, then the player loses and their stake is collected. In the event of a tie - where a player holds a hand of equal value to the dealer, then the current bets remain in place for the next hand.

Omaha hold’em/Omaha: is a community card poker game similar to Texas hold ’em, where each player is dealt four cards and must make their best hand using exactly two of them, plus exactly three of the five community cards. Omaha uses a 52-card French deck.
